Road trip!

Let’s visit nearby Lampasas on Saturday, May 9, 2026. We’ll explore the downtown area around the county courthouse, and anything else nearby that captures our eye.

There’s a farmer’s market scheduled for that morning, too. Those are always fun.

Afterward, perhaps lunch at a local eatery; there are a couple of options whose name doesn’t start with “Mc”.

Agenda

• Meet near their courthouse at 9:00 AM
• Corner of 3rd and Live Oak
• Spend 2-ish hours walking about
• Reconvene around 11:00 AM and decide on a lunch spot
• A little googling finds Nooni’s Kitchen and Giovanni’s Italian
• After lunch, head home, or explore further

We’re hoping the weather will be decent. It’s Texas; you never know. 🤷

Carpooling

Lampasas is about 1 hour from Round Rock. Anyone interested in carpooling can meet at Round Rock Premium Outlets which is located along I-35 just north of University Blvd in Round Rock. Typically, back in the northeast corner, along Bass Pro Drive, parking is readily available. So let’s meet in that area (the corner where Adidas and Cap Factory are located) at 7:45, and head out by 8:00. See that attached image for a visual.
