Sonja started her professional career as a photographer in the late 1990s.  After a few years she transitioned her focus to product and luxury images for advertising while earning a master's degree in studio photography in Paris (France, not Texas).  She continued working in Europe until 2014.  Moving back to Texas that year forced her career to shift into becoming a photo editor for Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine, which is the position she still currently holds.

She discussed what a photo editor does and how a contributing photographer can be published in a magazine.
